FAQ(s):
1) Where are the camping areas going to be? Do they include showers?
Camping will be “first come – first served” once you have checked in OR registered. There are limited spaces. But, we feel quite sure everyone will be accommodated. The areas will be: Morgan ball field, the Saddle and the fields by Meadow House. Each area will have porta-jons placed around. And, you are welcome to use the showers in Hopkins.
2) How will I know if I was able to secure a bed in a boarding house or down at school house or a bunk in the Adirondack shelters?
Kathlene Stith will reach out to you and let you know what is still available. This will be “first come, first served” by the order in which it was received via the online registration forms or walk up registration. They do go fast!
3) What do the T-Shirts look like? And how much are they?
They are solid black with an AMS Logo on the front. They are $15. In order for us to guarantee your size, please considering ordering one with your registration form.
4) What should I bring?
Start by checking out the activities and seeing if you need items to help you participate comfortably in them. Then…Clothes for hot days and cool nights, swim suits, comfortable shoes, shoes for getting wet in the river, towels, linens/sleeping bag, blankets (if staying on campus), your own toiletries (if staying on campus), “special” outfit for the dance party, instruments or your own talents for the Open Mic, stories to share, sunscreen, bug spray and whatever else you need to make yourself comfortable.
5) How/When do I sign up for work projects and volunteer opportunities/duties?
At check in! See check in schedule above ⇑.
6) If I do not want to come for the whole weekend, can I pay just for the day?
Yes! Each day is fee of $10. If you plan to come and go, it is cheaper just to pay the weekend fee of $25.
7) I heard that you all have really lovely hand made commemorative reunion ornaments for sale as a Scholarship fundraiser. Where can I purchase one… or two… or three?
These beautiful ornaments will be for sale in Elizabeth’s Hall. They are $12.50 a piece. There are only 20 of each design and were especially made to commemorate 60 years of AMS!
8) Are there places I can stay in the Celo area?
- Celo Inn = Check this link out: https://celoinn.com/ – SORRY! SOLD OUT.
- Camp Celo’s Erwin Place = Check this link out: https://www.vrbo.com/448780 – Check in with the host to request single bed or room rentals. SORRY! BOOKED AREADY.
- Air B and B(s) and VRBOs are plentiful! Check them out here: https://www.airbnb.com/celo-nc/stays https://www.vrbo.com/vacation-rentals/usa/north-carolina/blue-ridge-mountains/celo- You can also check Burnsville, NC as well.
9) May I bring my dog(s)?
Well behaved dogs on leashes (at all times) can come with you. However, dogs ARE NOT allowed in any of the buildings or boarding houses. No exceptions.
10) Why are there no breakfasts planned?
Since registration has opened there has been very little interest shown in breakfasts. Therefore, we have decided to ask folks to have breakfasts on their own. But, we will make sure that the mid-morning snacks on Friday and Saturday are plentiful (and part of the registration fee). And, all the other meals will be excellent for all to enjoy (not included in the registration fee). IN addition, we will put out heavy snacks (fruit, granola, bagels etc..) for those helping with campus pack up and clean up. But, no formal breakfast meal will be served on Sunday either.
11) Summer Octopus’ Garden – What is this?

REQUESTS:
Hi folks! As we plan our reunion community work and art projects, a few requests that we would like to ask of you all have come to mind. Thank you in advance!
Here is our wish list:
* Please bring tools that you can use to help with construction projects. Things like hammers, tape measures etc..If you have a tool belt that you normally use, that would be helpful for you to have on hand.
* ISO: Fabric remnants or scraps, pillow making materials, sewing materials. We are making patchwork pillows for the library window seats that all participants will be welcome to join in on. If you have these kinds of donations, please email Kathlene@arthurmoranschool.org and let her know. Plus, bring them with!
