Planned Giving- Creating Your Legacy

Planned gifts create opportunities for both the Arthur Morgan School and our donors. Our contributors have the opportunity to create a legacy consistent with the AMS vision: To empower our students to make courageous choices that may create global change by developing awareness of our impact on social and ecological life.

There are many options from which to choose - from bequests, to stock transfers, to charitable gift annuities. Please contact Heather Dawes, Development Coordinator, at 828-675-4361 or heather@arthurmorganschool.org, if you would like to discuss any of these options.

Bequests

A bequest enables individuals to make significant and lasting gifts. Please consult with your estate planner to insure that you have considered all aspects of your needs, the needs of your heirs, and your desires for philanthropic giving. Following are two links that further explain the policies of AMS as a beneficiary, as well as, provide sample bequest language for Arthur Morgan School.

Transfer of Stocks

Arthur Morgan School has established an account with a local stock broker and is able to accept transfers of stock. Typically stock transfers will be sold immediately and the monies moved to either our Annual Fund or to our Endowment Fund that is managed by the Community Foundation of Western North Carolina. The distribution of the proceeds will be determined by the AMS Board of Directors. If the monies are intended for a specific purpose, the Development Coordinator of AMS will work out the details and put them into writing for your approval.

Charitable Gift Annuities

A Charitable Gift Annuity lets you contribute to the future financial health of Arthur Morgan School and receive guaranteed income for life. The Arthur Morgan School Gift Annuity program is offered through our partnership with The Community Foundation of Western North Carolina (CFWNC).
